The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged Poster

The objective of this project was to design a poster for Stonehill’s production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare that used humor as a subtle basis to represent the show.

Since the client required that a photo of Shakespeare be used somewhere on the poster, the main design solution involved a vintage illustrative bust of Shakespeare with a clown nose, sunglasses, and an arrow through his head. These added elements solved the humor requirement and allow for the comical aspect of the play to be communicated this humorous depiction of Shakespeare. It is both informative and open to interpretation, which sparks interest in the performance.
