Rolling Stonehill
The Rolling Stonehill is Stonehill College’s student-run culture magazine. It publishes a new issue every semester with Spring 2019’s edition dubbed: The International Issue.
The International Issue discusses the significance of living in an interconnected world and why that should be celebrated. Through the categories of Literature, Film, Culture, Politics and Music, the writers of this publication explore what it really means to be a global community.
The visual identity of this issue speaks to the excitement one feels as they travel abroad. The cover presents a plane breaking through solid white clouds, creating movement, beckoning the reader to open the magazine. The header is chopped up, challenging the readability and therefore requiring the reader to be open-minded. The header balances precariously, creating tension while a grid structure formed from the subheads helps ground the piece.
The simplistic, yet energizing design of The Rolling Stonehill: The International Issue visualizes the value of studying abroad and celebrating our cultures.
